Breakfasting with Mark and Tabitha
Allergic to BORING “Breakfasting”
Mark and I love to breakfast on the weekends. Unless it is raining you will find us riding into breakfast on the Harley. We do not repeat dine very often because there are just so many places to try these days. However, we do end up coming to the same location 2 times in the same a weekend from time to time when we know the kids will love a certain restaurant.
After more than 20 years of dreaming and creating meals I look for inspiration for new dishes when we eat out. Maybe these reviews might inspire a new dish or two for you and your family.
BRICK AND SPOON
Wonderful! We started with the deep fried bananas and fancy coffee / drinks. We did look at the menu prior to coming in and I could not wait for the breakfast taco’s. They did not disappoint! Mark went with the shrimp and grits it came with a poached egg… he enjoyed it but said the shrimp was not fresh.
I love it when the staff is not annoyed to be working. No seriously it is the worst when they make you feel like you are bothering them by coming to the restaurant. The waitress and staff were super nice… awesome and not in your face. They took our temp when we got in and cleaned the table in front of us, even though the table was already clean (I LOVED THIS).
Dinning Area
The dinning area is open, huge and clean – there are also seats available outside.
Morning cocktails and Fancy Coffee’s… so many choices. We went with the Berry mimosa, Irish coffee and Cock Fight!

Cock Fight – click here for recipe
Biscuits and Gravy – Yes – this needed black pepper. Very rarely do we find a gravy that has the proper amount of black pepper. I loved the biscuit – Mark did not.
My meal came with French Fries – but they subbed a biscuit and gravy for me.
Banana’s in Pj’s. Deep Fried Bananas!!!!! Sooooo good!
Shrimp and Grits. Personally, I think this looks amazing but I would not eat. I feel everyone has shrimp and grits on their menu these days. Not often does it come with the little toast points – very cute.
AWESOME Hot Sauce – good heat and great Flavor.
The BEST Breakfast Tacos
They had me at Wonton shell. Usually I see this shell in seafood places and I am not a seafood girl so I never get them. I jumped all over this! I did have them hold the sour cream and add extra cheese. The hot sauce was a great touch.
- wonton shell
- scrambled eggs
- cilantro
- mango salsa
- jack cheese
- sour cream
- hot sauce
We passed this on the way to place on the way. “Kappy’s” – looks like a great old school sandwich shop. We have reviewed the menu and can not wait to try it!
The light was ON when we passed so I had to stop and grab the kids some donuts. We felt guilty breakfasting without them. Morning breakfast dates on the weekends is our thang… so they kids can suck it up with some donuts.
Inspiration, Motivation and Coffee are great ways to start the day!
