Disney Springs – Christmas – is it still magical?

Well we finally made it down to Disney Springs to check out the decorations and do a little Christmas shopping. This was a tough trip because I am very conflicted on the parks and covid. We went early to avoid the crowd, and man am I glad we did because it got “people-y” fast. We decided to pop into the boat house for lunch when they opened because we didn’t have reservations, see review button below. By the time we were done with lunch it was way to “people-y” so we left.
SANTA!!!! I KNOW HIM!!! – Check out the Santa boat below… this was pretty cool!
We were there long enough to see the beautiful decorations and truly miss… the way it was. This will be the first Christmas in 6 years we will miss Disney festivities this Christmas, sad. We live in Florida so we do have the opportunity to step back a bit and wait for the magic to return. Don’t get me wrong, Disney is trying, they are doing what they can with what they have been dealt. This will be enough for some, but not for me. Disney is NOT cheap, so I want the full magic, not some side show bullshit. We might pop back in before the season ends, but not if there is a line.
Line to get in. Not all the parking is available it is limited and they did take part of the parking structure to make a massive line to check bags and temperatures. We appreciate this, but only went in because there was no line. Face masks – they do have guidelines for this and if you do not meet them you can buy a paper mask from the mask vending machine… they sure do know how to make a buck!

CHRISTMAS SWAG
There is always a lot. Last year they had a green Christmas tree, this year it is white with lights and Mickey and Minnie are attached. Super Cute!
CHRISTMAS TREE TRAIL
Well this year they changed it up and scattered the trees through the Springs. I love this idea because where they had it before everyone was crammed in and up each other’s butts!!! This is NOT the covid way! We did not get to see them all because I was done walking around with tons of people so there is a downside to it too. These trees are beautiful during the day and at night. The issue with night is they might reach max capacity and you might not be able to get in.
LINE TO GET INTO DISNEY SPRINGS
Temperature, bag and mask checks. They will make you purchase a paper mask if you do not have or do meet their mask requirements. They have a vending machine for masks. Once inside you can pop into a store and purchase a jazzy one!

SANTA BOAT
This was such a nice treat. We were seated at an outside table at The Boathouse for lunch when who floated by…. SANTA!!! It was just Mark and I and we were very excited to see the big man, his wife and reindeer. Doesn’t matter how old you are… you smile and feel good when you see Santa!
