The BEST Gingerbread French Toast
The Best Gingerbread French Toast is what I promised today, but I was NOT in the mood!! I don’t know about anyone else but I have these grand ideas and then when my feet hit the floor and I regret telling my plans to the little ones. I had mentioned I would make The BEST Gingerbread French Toast but really was not feeling it this past weekend. Poured myself a big cup of coffee, ate a gingerbread cookie and sucked it the fuck up! Glad I did because these were scrumptious !!! Even Mark who claims to NOT like gingerbread loved them! He kept snacking on the leftovers.
YES – This is the BEST Gingerbread French Toast because it has all the ingredients in it!

Gingerbread French Toast

- 10 slices bread – THICK
- 1 tbsp brown sugar
- 1 tbsp powdered sugar
- 1/2 tsp cinnamon
- 1 tsp ginger
- 1/2 tsp all spice
- 1/2 tsp nutmeg
- 2 tbsp molasses
- 1.5 cups heavy cream
- 1/4 tsp vanilla
- 4 eggs
- butter for the pan
Instructions
Gingerbread Mixture
- make this before adding eggs so you can taste it and adjust if needed…

- in a separate bowl whisk the eggs
- butter the skillet and turn the pan on low to medium
- add the eggs to the gingerbread mixture and mix together
COOKING THE GINGERBREAD FRENCH TOAST
- SOAK – we are going to soak the bread in the mixture for about 20 seconds on each side
- COOK / BAKE – we are making this on low / medium at first to make certain that the egg cooks.
- Medium Brown – this is the color we are going for… so after you have flipped a couple of times – feel free to turn the heat up and get a little crisp if needed.
TOP IT OFF
- Presentation people!!! Just try it… I used the gingerbread guy from our house decorating.
- Maple Syrup – try adding a little caramel to it when you warm it up.
