Easter and Peeps go hand in hand and we are always up for trying all the new flavors. These CHOCOLATE Pudding Peeps are the BEST!!!! This year we decided to try baking with the peeps. Several different peep cookies have been made and all have been super yummy. However, these chocolate pudding peep cookies have been the best. It took some trial and error to get them right, but we figured it out. Make sure to check out the video… and also subscribe to the you tube channel while you are at it. Learn why we called it a “FOOKIE”.
Honestly, I did not feel like making the cookie dough cause I just wanted to cook the damn peeps. However, if you want a good cookie recipe… here it is.
PEEP BAKING CHOICES
We tried 3 different ways to bake the peeps into the cookies.
- COFFIN METHOD
- BUNNY BALL METHOD
- DICED METHOD
The coffin method made the cookie – HUGE!!!! The diced method was too sticky and hard to make. The bunny ball method was just perfect!! Then after they came out of the oven we slapped another peep on top.
BUNNY BALLS
This is the BEST method for baking peeps.
- slice the bunnies
- take a chunk of the cookie dough and make a sandwich
- roll the sandwich into a ball
- roll the ball in chocolate sprinkles
- plop it onto a cookie sheet
- bake – about 10 min at 350
- as soon as they come out of the oven slap a peep on top.

NOPE = these peep cooking methods did not work
PEEP COFFIN METHOD – We placed flat cookie dough down and then a whole peep and then covered the peep up in a cookie dough blanket (looked like a coffin). We baked it this way and the cookie was huge and feel apart. It needed to be eaten with a FORK… which is why Mark called it a FOOKIE… watch the video above. It was the size of THREE peeps!!!!
DICED PEEPS – These ended up being too sticky and too hard to make a large amount at a time.
