Another Easter in the books. The weather and the day was perfect. I have included recipes as well as links to some of the items we used and gifted the children for Easter. ENJOY!
There is a lot that goes into our holidays and sometimes it does feel like too much, but that feeling passes. Usually, the night before I think to myself why in the hell do I try and do so much, and is it too late to lower the bar? Once I get up and start tying up all the loose ends for the day I am reminded how much the kids love the little things and I do become a bit more energized. By the time they wake up I am excited and grateful I went through with all the extra’s.
YES – I do enjoy getting up at the “ass-crack” of dawn to get everything handled on a holiday. I love having all the food and details handled before the family wakes up so I can be more present with them. This is why I make the bacon LAST. It usually wakes them all up!
BUNNY CHAMPS
This treat is a MUST while handling your bunny duties. Always make time for your bunnyself. Bunny-care is important… if you don’t love your bunnyself how are you going to love any”bunny” else?
You will need a hollow dark chocolate bunny and a bottle of champs. Cut the top of the bunnies ears off (eat the ears) fill with the bunny champs. Drink right from the bunny, nibbling his ears when you feel the need. Continue to refill the bunny as needed. Enjoy Easter!
EASTER EGG HUNT
This year we decided to take a amazon gift card and cut it up and hide it in the eggs. The kids had to work together to find the pieces and put the card together. They then shared the gift card. They LOVE it!!!
We also purchased these hidden gems. They still love breaking these open and figuring out which rock they got.
EASTER BASKETS
I forgot to get a pic of their basket BEFORE the bunny hide them, you know when they looked nice. Our bunny hides the baskets and he did an awesome job this year. We like to put a little trinket in there for them to have in the future – this year it was an Easter sign. We also include candy and a some personal items.
They both got a stupid cute duck bike horn and the bot got another video game. This one looks like a game boy and has a 2nd controller to connect to the TV. It has some pretty sweet games on it.
EASTER MORNING BUNNY TREATS
When the family wakes in the morning I like to have a munchie table set up. Mark and I sip PEEP mimosa’s and the kids have a child friendly version. The “Bunny Treat” table has a little something for everyone. The table is set up the evening before and most treats are made and prepped the night before as well. The bacon is made morning of and it is made last. The smell of BACON does wake the family so I always make certain everything is cleaned up and ready to go by the time the bacon has to go in.
Recipes are below
- PEEP Mimosa’s
- Deviled Eggs (colorful)
- Fruit Bowl
- Gouda & Prosciutto (mark likes to wrap the meat around the melon)
- Guava Bread
- Bacon
- Quick EASTER cupcakes
