I need a NEW floor cleaner – what do you use?
oven cleaning!
Before the holidays, guests or a big celebration it is always a good idea to check your oven status. Here is how to give it a good clean. If you are doing it on a regular basis there is no need for a ton of elbow grease. The BEST way to clean your oven is to hire someone to do it… haha.
Clean your oven in less than five minutes
- Make sure your oven is off and cooled down and remove the racks.
- Mix your own cleaning solution with baking soda and water.
- Cover the oven in the cleaning paste. Make certain you are wearing gloves. Cover everything, including the glass door.
- Let it sit overnight or about 12 hours.
- Wipe down the oven. It is best to use a wet dish cloth or rag. You can use a spatula to scrap anything that is dried on.
- Spray it with vinegar. You want to use white vinegar in a spray bottle. Spray the whole oven with vinegar. It will foam up – this is normal. Wipe it all down.
- Wipe down the oven one last time.
- Replace the oven racks…. after you wipe them down of course.
cleaning solution – 1/2 cup of baking soda and a few tablespoons of water… the goal is to make it into a paste.
MAKE A LIST AND GET IT DONE!

For about 4 years I have tried everything and nothing has worked… until now. Literally sprayed and walked away… cleaned it!!!! AMAZING!!!
MICROWAVE
COFFEE MAKER
The right thing to do is to clean it after every use (drip machines) and deep clean both every 3 months. “They” say it is best to leave the water tank empty when not using.
- see the bottom for some awesome cleaning products
Why deep clean the coffee maker?
- descaling removes mineral deposits
- left uncleaned yeast, mold and bacteria will grow in the machines
- water will not reach it’s HIGHEST temperature if it is left uncleaned
- coffee will taste better
- a water filter helps to keep machines clean and descaling can happen less
- emptying the water reserve nightly also helps keep the machine clean
- descaling and vinegar work about the same
- descaling solution does not leave a NASTY taste in your mouth
- machine will last longer
HOW DO YOU CLEAN A DRIP MACHINE
- Fill water tank 1/2 way with white vinegar, then top off with water.
- Put carafe in place
- start brew cycle
- 1/2 way through cycle STOP coffee maker and let it sit for about an hour
- finish cycle
HOW DO YOU CLEAN A “POD” MACHINE
- buy a descaling solution and filter – follow instructions on box
CLEANING TIPS
- If you clean it regularly you can skip rest period
- You might need to do this twice if machine is dirty
- plain brew with just water if you can taste the vinegar
- use descaling solution if you can taste the vinegar

Sometimes it feels like your mind is full of clutter, especially these days. Look around… is your desk clean? They say… Tidy desk, tidy mind so let’s declutter both!
