Gingerbread French Toast
OH SNAP!!! This Gingerbread French Toast is almost better than the cookie!
- 10 slices bread - THICK
- 1 tbsp brown sugar
- 1 tbsp powdered sugar
- 1/2 tsp cinnamon
- 1 tsp ginger
- 1/2 tsp all spice
- 1/2 tsp nutmeg
- 2 tbsp molasses
- 1.5 cups heavy cream
- 1/4 tsp vanilla
- 4 eggs
- butter for the pan
Gingerbread Mixture
make this before adding eggs so you can taste it and adjust if needed...
mix together - everything except the eggs - taste it
in a separate bowl whisk the eggs
butter the skillet and turn the pan on low to medium
add the eggs to the gingerbread mixture and mix together
COOKING THE GINGERBREAD FRENCH TOAST
SOAK - we are going to soak the bread in the mixture for about 20 seconds on each side
COOK / BAKE - we are making this on low / medium at first to make certain that the egg cooks.
Medium Brown - this is the color we are going for... so after you have flipped a couple of times - feel free to turn the heat up and get a little crisp if needed.
