Gingerbread French Toast

OH SNAP!!! This Gingerbread French Toast is almost better than the cookie!

Ingredients

  • 10 slices bread - THICK
  • 1 tbsp brown sugar
  • 1 tbsp powdered sugar
  • 1/2 tsp cinnamon
  • 1 tsp ginger
  • 1/2 tsp all spice
  • 1/2 tsp nutmeg
  • 2 tbsp molasses
  • 1.5 cups heavy cream
  • 1/4 tsp vanilla
  • 4 eggs
  • butter for the pan

Instructions

Gingerbread Mixture

  • make this before adding eggs so you can taste it and adjust if needed...
  • mix together - everything except the eggs - taste it
  • in a separate bowl whisk the eggs
  • butter the skillet and turn the pan on low to medium
  • add the eggs to the gingerbread mixture and mix together

COOKING THE GINGERBREAD FRENCH TOAST

  • SOAK - we are going to soak the bread in the mixture for about 20 seconds on each side
  • COOK / BAKE - we are making this on low / medium at first to make certain that the egg cooks.
  • Medium Brown - this is the color we are going for... so after you have flipped a couple of times - feel free to turn the heat up and get a little crisp if needed.

TOP IT OFF

  • Presentation people!!! Just try it... I used the gingerbread guy from our house decorating.
  • Maple Syrup - try adding a little caramel to it when you warm it up.
