Classic Buttermilk Biscuits -EASY

These biscuits are SUPER easy to make and taste legit!

Ingredients

  • 2 cups Flour and a bit for dusting
  • 1/4 tsp baking soda
  • 1 tbsp. baking powder
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 2 tsp sugar
  • 6 tbsp. CRISCO - butter flavor - COLD
  • 1 cup buttermilk - COLD

Instructions

  • preheat the oven 450 degrees.
  • dust the rolling area with flour
  • put parchment paper on the baking pans
  • make certain the buttermilk and shortening are in fridge - chillin.
  • measure out the first 5 ingredients and mix in a bowl together
  • add the butter flavored Crisco to the bowl and mix
  • add the chilled buttermilk and mix
  • sprinkle in a little black pepper if you want - this is how we like it
  • slap the dough on the dusted counter and dust the top of dough and rolling pin
  • roll out the dough, 1/2 inch thick and use the 2" cookie cutter
  • you will have to re-roll the dough and cut again - just don't play with the dough too much
  • BAKE - 10 minutes @ 450 degrees
  • when they come out of the oven brush butter on top of them
